Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a "pro" to take these modules?

Not at all! As a teacher with 7 years in middle and high school classrooms, I specialize in making complex vocal concepts simple. Whether you’re a David Douglas Scot preparing for Solo & Ensemble or an adult in Damascus singing for fun, these modules are designed for all levels of "voice nerds."

What exactly is "Interactive Sheet Music"?

I use a tool called Soundslice. It’s like having a rehearsal pianist and a teacher in your pocket. You can see the music, click any note to hear it, slow down the tempo without changing the pitch, and loop difficult phrases until they are perfect. It’s the ultimate way to practice at home between lessons.

I’m a busy parent. How much time does this take?

I totally get it—as a mom myself, I know how precious time is! These modules are "bite-sized." You can spend 10 minutes on a Diction Lab or an hour in the Interactive Score. You have lifetime access, so you can go at your own pace whenever the kids are napping or school is out.

How is this different from a YouTube tutorial?

With a B.A. and an M.A.T. in Music Education, I don't just show you how to sing a song; I teach you how to learn. These modules include specific pedagogical breakdowns, IPA (diction) guides, and interactive tools you won't find on a flat video. It's a structured curriculum, not just a demonstration.

Can I use these modules if I already have a private voice teacher?

Yes! These are meant to be a supplement to your training. Many teachers love when their students use my modules because it means the student comes to their lesson already knowing the notes and the Italian diction, allowing the teacher to focus on the "big" vocal technique.

Do you still teach 1-on-1 lessons in Damascus?

I do! While these digital modules are a great way to start, I love working with local singers. If you're in the Damascus/Clackamas area and want to dive deeper, feel free to reach out via the "Contact" button above to check my current studio availability.
